Fr. Agnel Ashram, Verna Goa is a unit of Agnel Region of the Society of Pilar. It was started in June, 1979 on 16 acres plot of land at Verna. Agnel region has its institutions in Bandra Mumbai, Vashi Navi Mumbai, Pune, Ambernath, Delhi, Noida U.P., and Greater Noida U.P. Fr. Angle Multipurpose Higher Secondary School is an English Medium Institution with a Science based subjects, Commerce based subjects and Vocational based subjects, recognized by the Government of Goa. The Higher Secondary School was started in 1989 and is managed by the Agnel Region Fathers of the Society of St. Francis Xavier, Pilar well known and appreciated for their contribution in the field of Technical Education for their nationalist spirit and non-communal outlook, both in this territory and outside.

The primary purpose of the School is to provide sound education with a strong Technical bias to the Youth of the Territory, irrespective of class and creed.

It stands for academic excellence, development of technical skill and formation of character, based on the love of God and service to the neighbor with a view to train citizens distinguished for their all-round development and commitment to God and the Country.

THE GENERAL SCHOOL REGULATIONS

  1. Regularity and obedience to superiors.

  2. Students are expected to be polite and courteous in speech and conduct.

  3. Students are responsible to the school authorities not only for their conduct in school but also for their general behavior outside. Any pupil who is persistently in subordinate or is repeatedly or willfully mischievous or is guilty of malpractices in connection with examinations or has committed an act of serious indiscipline of misbehavior, or who, in the opinion of the Principal has an unwholesome influence on his fellow-pupil, may be expelled permanently or removed for a specified period,by the Principal from the rolls and the reasons thereof recorded.

  4. Every Student must posses a copy of the school calendar which must be brought to school daily and followed carefully. No pupil is allowed to tear any page from the calendar. Breach of this rule will be dealt with severely at the discretion of the Principal even leading to dismissal. A duplicate calendar will be issued on payment of a fine.

  5. Every student shall have an Identity Card which he/she shall wear it on with him/her always as testimony of bonafide, and shall produce the same on demand on the premises of the school. The Identity Card shall be issued by the school office and is to be renewed every year.

  6. Ordinarily request for duplicate Identity Card will not be entertained. Students should therefore be very careful in preserving their Identity Card till the end of the year. Only in exceptional circumstance to be decided by the Principal, duplicate Identity Cards on payment of fine shall be issued.

  7. The school authorities do not stand responsible for the loss of books, money, jewellery and other personal articles. Students are therefore advised not to bring any valuable/articles in School.

  8. Students are requested to strictly follow instructions before entering any department/laboratory.

  9. All important announcements shall be displayed on the School Notice Board from time to time and it is the duty of every student to see the Notice Boards every day.Omission to take note of such announcements shall be be valid excuses for non-compliance thereof.

  10. Students are required to show due regard for the rights and property of the institute. Any student found guilty of tampering/damaging the property fixtures, equipments, furniture, books, building, vehicles, etc. of the school shall be punishable and might be liable for expulsion from the institute.

  11. Students should avoid littering the premised, classrooms and laboratories with papers, eatables, etc. or throwing them out of windows. Dustbins should be used for this purpose.

  12. Students must observe silence in the school premises and the medium of communication in the premises shall be English only. Reading habit must be cultivated during spare time while on premises, as not to cause any interference with others.

  13. Every student shall attend the school assembly in the morning

  14. No Student shall be allowed to leave the complex campus during the lunch break or any other break.

  15. Students should report to school in clean and well-pressed school uniform. Students without proper uniform shall be sent home. Hair has to be well groomed and in keeping with the decorum of the Institution.

  16. Smoking, Chewing pans, Drinking (Alcohol), use of drugs and use of mobile phones are strictly prohibited in the premises of the school.

  17. No collection or on society or association for whatever purpose shall be made/formed by the students without the permission of the Principal. No presentation or demonstration in honour of any staff member will be organized without the written permission of the Principal.

  18. No students suffering from any contagious or serious diseases will be allowed to attend school. On recovering from such diseases, a Medical Fitness Certificate is to be produced when reporting back to school.

  19. Students are expected to take part in all co-curricular as well as extra-curricular activities such as Dramatics, Athletics Singing and other competitions as part of their functions like Annual Sports, Inter-religious Meet, mass, the School Patron's Birth and Death Anniversary celebrations, etc. Students must attend to their personal needs like eating, drinking water, using toilets, etc. as far as possible during the recess only.

  20. As per the Goa Sports Policy, students are entitled for sports merit marks for their participation/achievement in sports at various levels of competition. To avail of such sports merit marks, students representing clubs or the associations should inform the Principal in writing to seek permission to represent the Club/State. Failure to do so will disqualify the student from availing the sports merit marks.

  21. Students are not permitted to post any objectionable material regarding the institution, staff members or any fellow student. If found guilty, strict action will be taken.

  22. Students are prohibited from bringing geared bikes to the institution.

  23. Students are not allowed to use mobile phones in the premises of the school. If found using the phones will be confiscated till they leave the institute.
THE DECISION OF THE PRINCIPAL IN ALL MATTERS SHALL BE FINAL AND BINDING ON ALL STUDENTS
  1. ADMISSION AND WITHDRAWAL:-
    1. Student seeking admission must forward a form signed by the parent/guardian; who shall be responsible for the fees, attendance, good conduct, etc.

    2. The form is also available on our website:-admissions.famhss.org.in and may be preferable submitted online, However admission will not be confirmed. Student will get an email about the status and will have to confirm the admission personally in the school office.

    3. Students from our school (Fr. Agnel Multipurpose High School,Verna) & neighboring schools & also siblings of our ex-students will be awarded some bonus points which will be displayed on the school notice board.

    4. A student desiring to cancel his/her admission on account of his/her having secured admission to another professional college (Goa college of Art or Polytechnic) will have to produce a documentary proof to the Principal of the School of being admitted to the professional course. The Leaving Certificate will be issued to him/her only after 4 days from the date of application.
    5. In all other cases no refund of fees will be allowed

  2. SCHOOL UNIFORM:-
    1. The student should be clean and tidy in their person and dress. Each student should have atleast 2 sets of the School uniform

    2. Any student wearing uniform made of material different form the prescribed uniform in colour or quality will be debarred from entering the classroom.

    3. The uniforms should be stitched strictly as per the pattern displayed on the Notice Board.

    4. Only black belts and black foot wear are permitted.

    5. The base width of the uniform pant has to be minimum 16 inches.

    6. Students are expected to have a trimmed decent hair style.

    7. Coloring of hair is strictly prohibited.

  3. ATTENDANCE
    1. Attendance of students at lectures will be watched very strictly. If a student remains absent even for a single lecture, he/she will be treated as absent for the whole day.

    2. Irregular attendance and repeated absence renders a student liable to dismissal.

    3. Student are discouraged to leave their class between lectures for trifling reasons like drinking water or using the cloak rook, etc.

    4. Student reporting to school, after an absence of more than 2 days due to illness must bring a medical certificate which has to be counter signed by the Principal

    5. If a student remains absent for more than 3 weeks without prior application for leave of absence, his/her name will be struck off the rolls.

    6. No student will be allowed to leave the institution during class hours without a prior note from the parent/guardian except in case of Emergency.

  4. LIBRARY
  5. We have spacious well stocked library. Apart from the books recommended, there are number of periodicals. The timings of the library hours are fixed taking into consideration the collective convenience of all the students.

    1. Students are expected to take utmost care of library books. Writing or any remarks in a book is strictly forbidden and is punishable with a fine.

    2. The students is requested to check for any damage at the time of issue. If the book is damaged, the student should inform the librarian before leaving the library.

    3. Failure to return a book on the expiry of the period of week will involve payment of a fine of Rs. 2 per day (on Text Book) and Rs. 5 per day (on Reference Book) (inclusive of Holiday and Sundays).

    4. All the books must be returned before terminal examinations. Failure may lead to suitable action against the pupil.

    5. Smoking, munching is strictly prohibited.

    6. Strict action will be taken if the books/furniture misused or damaged.

    7. Students reading in the Reading Hall are expected to study by themselves. Any kind of discussion is forbidden.

  6. EXAMINATIONS
    1. One mid-term in July/August, and two terminal examinations, October and March will be conducted each year for the student of Std XI and XII Vocational. However Students of Std XII Science and Commerce will answer two internal test of 20 marks, one in month of August and the other in October. Time-table for the respective exams will be displayed on the notice board atleast 15 days in advance. Results will be declared within a month.

    2. Pupils who stay away from the examination without justifying reasons from Parents or guardian will be considered to have failed in that examination.

  7. PROMOTIONS
  8. Promotions are made at the end of the year taking into account the pupils all around progress. The promotions are made on the average of marks taking into account the term tests, exams, assignments and year's work.

ADMISSION TO STD XI

A student seeking admission to Std. XI shall apply in the prescribed form available in the Higher Secondary School Office along with this prospectus. The form is also available on the website:- admissions.famhssverna.org.in

  1. Students who have passed the 10- year S.S.C. Examination of any Statutory Board in India are eligible for admission to Std XI, if they have offered and passed English language as one of the subjects.

  2. Students who have passed Std. XI (ICSE/CBSE/N.I.O.S) are eligible for admission to Std XI.
These Students need to submit mandatory documents as prescribed by the Goa Board such as
  1. Copy of Provisional eligibility Certificate issued by the board
  2. Application for final eligibility.
  3. Migration Certificate (Original)
    In all International Cases the leaving certificate/Transfer Certificate should be Counter signed by the authority of Indian Embassy/Consulate.
  4. Original and photocopy of the statement of Marks of S.S.C. or equivalent examination.
  5. Original School Leaving Certificate from the last School attended.
  6. Photocopy of birth certificate.
  7. One identity card size photograph of the student.
